Exhibits of Humanity
The role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.

Exhibits of Humanity is the ongoing artistic practice of creative activist Emma Thorne-Christy. With a background in community organizing, cultural studies, and museum exhibition design, I create public art installations that explore issues of social justice to educate and inspire change.

Each art project, or “exhibit of humanity,” pays homage to the exhibition format both in visual identity and voice. I’m fascinated with the power of the museum effect: how the context of the museum exhibition heightens the perceived significance and value of the subject on display. I use that power to bring public attention to local issues, combat the spread of misinformation, and provide meaningful ways for people to become more actively engaged in improving our society.
